Creation of 6 Nutrition Fact Tables (NFT), which is a standardized chart that shows the nutrient values found within a food or beverage product based on a certain serving size. A standard NFT as regulated by Health Canada includes: calories, fat, saturated fat, trans fat, carbohydrates, fibre, sugars, protein, cholesterol, sodium, potassium, calcium, and iron.
This includes bilingual NFTs (6 only), list of ingredients, list of allergens, and FOP label (if applicable) within a PDF report.
GFIC requires the completion of a Formula Submission Form and Allergen Declaration Form to proceed. We do not need your physical sample. We do a formulation-based nutrient calculation using standardized Canadian databases and your ingredient specification sheets for the most accurate results.
This calculated NFT method is best for stable, low-risk foods products that don’t change significantly during processing (like sauces, granola, frozen meals, and soup). This is not suitable for products experiencing a significant chemical or physical change during the manufacturing process (i.e., baking, frying, fermenting, brining, and curing), and products that intend to have a Canadian food claim.
